Silent auction jewelry display ideas to add to your supply kit

These were on sale at Michaels in March 2015.

March 2015: I saw these jewelry props on sale at Michaels.

I’ve written before about creatively displaying jewelry in your silent auction displays. That post showed some unusual ways to showcase your jewels. This suggestion is more straightforward.

Use jewelry stands.

Stands … props … displays … whatever you want to call them.

When you find jewelry displays on sale, it’s not a bad idea to invest in more than one. These become part of your permanent supply kit.

Consider this story.

Shortly after I graduated from college, I flew to visit a friend. When I cut my finger and needed a bandage, she pulled out her first aid kit. It was filled with all sizes of bandages, tape, salves, ointments, scissors, medicine, and more. I was impressed!

“When did you get all this stuff?” I asked, thinking about my own paltry first aid kit. At most, I had an old box of bandages.

“Each time I go to the drugstore, I buy one thing for my kit,” she said, “That way, it’s not a big expense for me all at once. Over time I’ve built a good kit with everything I need.”

If your budget is tight, take her approach.

You don’t need to buy everything at once. You can add to your supplies as you find items on sale. A couple of jewelry stands here and some acrylic display frames there will eventually make for a solid auction supply closet.

It’s a bit like decorating for Halloween or Christmas. Your first year of decorating might be “meh” because you’ll have so few decorations. But over time you’ll accumulate props and decor that will allow you to have beautiful silent auction jewelry displays.
