Wow, bulldozer auction item ideas turn out to be REAL business

In late July 2009, you might remember reading my blog post about some benefit auction item ideas I had  — like learning to drive a bulldozer and operate other heavy equipment such as dump trucks or excavators.  I envisioned the donation could become a fun birthday party for boys … or even a memorable party for grown men who might like to test their skills at operating some heavy equipment.

I suggested procuring a 2-hour donation from your nearby Heavy Equipment Training Academy.

Then in October 2009, you might have caught the follow-up blog post with photos.

It turns out that in last month’s Entrepreneur magazine (June 2010), Dig This is one of the companies featured.

Guess what Dig This is?

It’s a company geared towards heavy equipment adventure tourism; an amusement park for those who want to operate a bulldozer, dump truck, etc.

WOW!

That renegade idea I had for an auction donation is a full-fledged, money-making company which is expanding into new markets.

What better proof that this is a great item to procure for your benefit auction if it’s already established itself as a growing business.

Climb into the seat and get ready to dig!
