Five ways to refresh a tired fundraising auction

The 1993 movie Groundhog Day is one of my favorites. The lead character finds himself stuck in a time loop, reliving the same day over and over.  At first he enjoys it, giving in to his base desires hour and hour, knowing that the clock resets at midnight. Eventually he becomes bored with his selfish ways and finds greater satisfaction in helping others.  His new attitude breaks the spell and he returns to a normal life. Some fundraising galas are a lot like the concept in that movie.  ... Read On >

Oh New York, *must* your auction venue be that exquisite?

Benefit auction secrets – The easiest way to schedule a meeting

With everyone so busy, it's difficult to coordinate a meeting with your auction team. We've all been the victim (or unwilling participant) of one of those nightmarish scheduling sessions.  Someone suggests a time for your 4-person committee to meet, but one of the women can't make that hour.  Another time is set-up, and someone else is unable to come.  When (finally!) a date and time is found to be all-clear for everyone, someone realizes they forgot a commitment (or a last-minute emergency ... “CliffsNotes” – The most popular benefit auction ideas of 2010

While 2011 still has that new-year smell, I thought I'd do some quick "by the numbers" work. As a regular writer (at least one post per week), I was curious to see which of my 2010 missives ranked most popular on the blog.  What were the benefit auction ideas that you, the readers, liked?  If you've landed on my site and have no time for wasting, dive into these.   It's my CliffsNotes version of the Red Apple Auctions 2010 blog.  Your colleagues in the auction stratosphere found these to be ...
