[VIDEO] You can’t open auction checkout in 20 minutes

Last week I led a webinar on how to run a manual auction checkout process.  During the webinar, one participant asked a question about timing.

She wanted a 20 minute window between the time the silent auction closed and guests collected their items.

Though admirable, I said that I didn’t think her timeframe was realistic.

To be fair, I  don’t know the particulars of her auction. The webinar system didn’t allow us to have a free flowing conversation to explore details around her timeline, layout, guest count, item count, and so forth.  I spoke and she typed answers — hardly the ideal communication system for a consultative answers.

Nonetheless, her question inspired me to post a blog on turnaround times for silent auction checkout.

There’s an inner confidence that comes from having knowledge, isn’t there?

Simple Auction CheckoutOne reason it’s good to become familiar with all of the processes involved in a fundraising auction is that you can start to have more confidence in what will and won’t work.  Then when someone — an Executive Director, a Board, a committee — starts to demand results that are unreasonable, you’ll feel confident in holding your ground and explaining alternatives.

To up your confidence quotient in the realm of fundraising auction checkout, here’s your resource, Simple Auction Checkout.
